GREATER ARCTARA, MYRL
[DIFFICULTY]
R IES-2
The Mirage Cave Network was originally found to be a slight opening inside Mt. Remora, with a large crystal embedded inside. People believed that this crystal held a sacred power over the planet, and it would amass a small group of worshippers known as the
'Disciples of Aurathel'.
This land was protected as a natural wonder & a place of worship, until the 2892 Arctara recession, which saw the unexpected transfer of ownership to executives at Epsilon Development. The Disciples were outraged, for they saw it as a desecration of their sacred site. However, as Epsilon Development took control, they promised to honor the sanctity of the area and the beliefs of the Disciples.
As Epsilon Development utilized the surrounding area for spacecraft testing, they established a symbiotic relationship with the Disciples of Aurathel. While the Disciples maintained their spiritual practices and rituals, the company provided resources for the preservation and protection of the area.
Eventually, Epsilon moved onto a more specialized facility for their research, and with cooperation of the Disciples, found a way to turn the cave network into a racing circuit for the use of the HSRL.
Dubbed Mirage, it stands infamous among the community for it's extreme difficulty with tight corners & strict lines. Through a technical standpoint, it is the deadliest of the three active circuits, as a slight mistake through an unforgiving corner could immediately toss one into the wall at high speeds. However, any incidents that have occurred throughout the track's history have left pilots unscathed.
Many say it's the work of luck - but the very few in the know point elsewhere.
