NOT YOUR TYPICAL SPACECRAFT
Ramming Speed Workshop are a racing team based in Shikoku, Gurupu. They specialize in modifying civilian spacecraft for use in racing applications, such as the HS300 and TEC.
Part One | Overview
FORMATION
Ramming Speed Workshop was founded in 2763 by Nagara Okiyama. They were a small tuning shop in the motorsport scene, working with Akuma Racing to modify and race in GT-PRO leagues across Gurupu. Sooner or later, Ramming Speed would part ways with Akuma, setting their sights on other goals. In 2774, Okiyama would stumble upon the HS300 while sitting in a bar with his colleagues. From there, he would focus on something new; turning civilian spacecraft into speed demons.
Okiyama decided to settle on one spacecraft manufacturer for his projects; Rythmos. Rythmos is a system-recognized spacecraft manufacturer; mainly in the industry of civilian shuttlecraft. One example of their shuttlecraft is the RX-3, which was a sports-oriented model. Okiyama owned one as a daily driver, and found it to be quite capable in both handling and performance. So, he bought another one and took it into the workshop.
A couple years later, he would showcase his shuttlecraft on Terra's etinet, of which it would garner massive attention. This would catch the eye of Westerlight, a banking firm. Westerlight reached out to Okiyama, initiating talks of racing in the HS300 League under the Westerlight name. Ramming Speed agreed, receiving the funding and guidance to form a team.
HSRL
In 2785, Westerlight-RSW would apply to enter the HS300 League, with the team's newly modified RX-3. Teams were skeptical, as the chassis being used was of a sub-standard safety rating compared to the Hades manufactured chassis. Because of Hades' role in HS300's safety efforts, their chassis was considered to be the standard for the HS300. Argumentative discussion ensued between the two sides, but Westerlight-RSW was eventually allowed entry into the league after numerous tests, along with a proper integration of the Hades LG-X system.
They would find some success in their first couple of years in the sport - gaining reputation and making connections within the space. Eventually, they would end up as official partners of Rythmos, turning RSW into a first-party tuning shop for their spacecraft. This would also be the point where the team would go independent, now calling themselves Ramming Speed in the league.
