CONSTRUCTION PARAMETERS
FOR TRACK ARCHITECTS
The HSRL is always looking for new tracks to race around. We welcome anyone who wants to create a new track for the league!
Once you come up with the layout and theme of your track, we recommend you follow these parameters to ensure that your track is enjoyable for everyone.
MEASUREMENTS
To preface this, we highly encourage that you use ROBLOX Studio to create your race track. The parameters given will be difficult to maintain if done in Astrocraft's editor.
Minimum Overall Size: 2000x2000 studs
You must build a track that is as large, or larger than a 2000x2000 stud square. Submissions that do not follow this are at a higher risk of being rejected.
MINIMUM DIMENSIONS
These dimensions are relatively similar to those of Mirage. Any track that follows the minimum closely will be considered an A-Grade or R-Grade [hard] track.
Track Width: ~80 studs
Track Height: ~50 studs
STANDARD DIMENSIONS
These dimensions are relatively similar to tracks like Rod Canyon and Ruins of Cydonia. Any track that follows the recommended parameters will be considered a C-Grade [easy] or B-Grade [medium] track. Variation from the recommended dimensions are encouraged.
Track Width: >= 110 studs [Grade C]
>= 90 studs [Grade B]
Track Height: 70-150 studs
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
CORNER VARIATION
Refrain from repetitive corners. If your entire track consists of tight 90 degree turns, it generally won't be fun to fly around. Play around with it; add a mixture of corners that can be easy & fast, tight & slow, or right in the middle.
ELEVATION
If you want to add elevation to your track, we recommend features that allow racers to approach it normally, rather than abruptly. A good example of proper elevation can be found on Tulcanne Valley.
OBSTACLES
If you want to add obstacles to your track, ensure that they are not overly intrusive to the point where flow can be interrupted. See Ruins of Cydonia for a good example of obstacle placement.
