REGULATIONS
rev. 4-9-2025
The following regulations are set forth to ensure a fair and competitive environment within the HS300 Championship, while promoting innovative and aesthetically pleasing spacecraft designs.
Competing spacecraft are limited to the utilization of a single 2x2 gyroscope component.
All participating spacecraft must adhere to a maximum functional acceleration limit of 333.33 studs per second squared (st/s²) across all axes.
2.1. Functional acceleration refers to the acceleration of a craft when a movement key is pressed, not the acceleration shown in the 'Connected Stats' table.
Competing spacecraft must be larger than a box set with the dimensions of 6x4x18 studs. HS300 set maximum is 15x8x28 studs.
3.1. This must be checked at normal orientation, where the control seat has zero X or Z rotation.
All competing spacecraft must possess a minimum weight of 500 units.
Racers must have collisions turned on.
5.1. Parts used to access the control seat may be exempted.
All competing spacecraft must be outfitted with a discernible interior design element.
6.1. This includes a seat, control method (stick/throttle, joysticks, etc), and dashboard/MFDs. Spacecraft must be operable should the player use FPV.
Each spacecraft must conspicuously exhibit the official HS300 Championship class decal. The said decal can be retrieved from the
#league-graphics channel in the HSRL server.
7.1. The decal is to be placed on an "Institutional White" coloured brick, with material set to "Smooth Plastic" & fully opaque (transparency = 0).
7.2. The class decal requirement necessitates clear and unobstructed visual identification from a distance (the decal must be legible when looking at the spacecraft as a whole)
All competing spacecraft are subject to a minimum standard of visual appeal. Engine boxes and the mere stacking of bare components solely for function are expressly forbidden and will result in a rejected time submission.
The front of the control seat must point towards the front face of the limiting box at all times (15x8). It cannot be manipulated by a servomotor.
Less restrictive regulations for HS500 time attacks.
All participating spacecraft must adhere to a maximum acceleration limit of 333.33 studs per second squared (st/s²) across all axes.
All competing spacecraft are subject to a minimum standard of visual appeal. Engine boxes and the mere stacking of bare components solely for function are expressly forbidden, and will result in a rejected time submission.
Each spacecraft must conspicuously exhibit the HS500 class decal. Said decal can be retrieved from the
#league-graphics channel on the designated HSRL server.
4.1. The decal is to be placed on an "Institutional White" coloured brick, with material set to "Smooth Plastic" & fully opaque (transparency = 0).
4.2. The class decal requirement necessitates clear and unobstructed visual identification from an external perspective while the spacecraft remains stationary. (Must be obviously visible when looking at it and cannot be intentionally hidden)
Infractions of the aforementioned racecraft regulations may result in temporary suspension from the competition. Repeated or egregious violations hold the potential for complete expulsion from the league.
LEADERBOARD SUBMISSIONS
You must provide a video of your run (from the racer's POV) to the HSRL server.
1.1. These videos are to be posted in their respective channels inside the 'LB SUBMISSIONS' category.
To facilitate leaderboard placement, please ensure that the final time shown in-game is also included and legible in the submission - either directly in the video or through a separate screenshot.
2.1. You are allowed to "manually time" your runs, in which a separate timer is included in the video based on counting the frames of a video.
All submissions may be subject to scrutineering - either by an ISF steward or a member of a community.
This is the only way to submit your time. Submissions that do not follow the steps above will be invalidated.
TEAMS
Teams must consist of at least two pilots - with a third "reserve" pilot being an optional addition.
Each team must establish a unique and original identity that sets them apart from other teams. This includes distinctive design elements, color schemes, team insignia, and team names.
Each team must post their current racing equipment (the spacecraft) in the #team-spacecraft channel.
Teams must provide identifying assets as soon as possible - including a logo, picture of their vehicle (side view, front of the vehicle facing left), isolated pictures of their pilots, and a brief description of the team.
EVENT HOSTING
HSRL events will be hosted in Astrocraft's Racing server.
Events will be sanctioned by Interplanetary Spacecraft Federation (ISF) Stewards.

VEHICLE SUBMISSIONS
All competing racecraft must strictly adhere to the HS300 class specifications.
A team can submit one racecraft for official use in the HS300 Championship; however it can be modified throughout the season. When modifying, the racecraft must retain it's major visual characteristics.
2.1. i.e. differences in a racecraft's bodywork that fundamentally change its core appearance are prohibited (removing/adding major features, completely remodeling aspects of a spacecraft's bodywork, etc). Minor changes and/or the addition of accessories are permitted.
2.2. Changes to component configuration or optimizations to a racecraft that do not heavily affect it's visual identity are allowed.
Racecraft can be shared between teams (maximum of two teams per racecraft).
3.1. In tandem with Section 2, racecraft with extremely minor bodywork changes/differences will be considered the same vehicle, thus falling under the same count when sharing racecraft between teams.
GENERAL FRAMEWORK
Participation in the HS300 Championship is open to teams comprised of two pilots and a reserve pilot.
1.1. To distinguish themselves throughout the races, each team is required to establish a unique team name, logo, and color scheme. Please refer to the Team Regulations for details on team identification guidelines.
Pilots within a team must operate their own copy of the team's spacecraft model throughout the competition. Pilots are not permitted to "rideshare" with other pilots to achieve a time.
2.1. Both pilots in a team must use the same series of racecraft, with some leeway for minor visual changes, including the livery, naming decals, or other minor, personal additions to the spacecraft which do not create an obvious difference in the bodywork.
2.1.1. Changes to component configurations between pilots are permitted.
All competing spacecraft must adhere to the class specifications specified.
DURATION
The championship will be structured around bi-weekly race weeks (Grand Prix).
4.1. Each Grand Prix will commence on a Monday and conclude on the following Sunday in accordance with the Eastern Time Zone (ET).
The HS300 Series Championship season will span approximately three months (six Grand Prix events).
5.1. This is subject to change, along with the frequency of race events.
GRAND PRIX
During a Grand Prix, pilots will be granted the seven-day window to establish their fastest lap times.
It is mandatory for each team to submit lap times achieved by two separate team pilots before the conclusion of the race week. The team's official race time will be determined by calculating the average of both submitted lap times.
7.1. The absence of a team members' lap time will result in the use of the sole submission, with a five-second penalty being applied to the team average.
Submitted lap times will be ranked accordingly. Points will then be awarded to both teams and individual pilots based on their performance.
POINTS
The distribution of points will occur at the conclusion of each race week. Separate point systems will be implemented to recognize the achievements of both teams and individual pilots.
9.1. Points will be awarded to pilots based on their finishing positions within a race. The highest point value (10 points) will be granted to the first-place finisher, with points progressively decreasing in value down to one point awarded to the tenth-place finisher. Pilots ranking lower than tenth place will not be awarded any points.
9.2. Teams will be awarded points based on the combined point totals of their pilots, along with the overall average time achieved by both pilots.
9.2.1. The individual lap times of both pilots will be summed and ranked. The top five teams will be awarded points according to their ranking (1st place = 5 points, 5th place = 1 point). Teams positioned lower than fifth place will not be awarded any points.
POINTS - BONUSES
Pilots have the opportunity to earn bonus points by achieving a "perfect lap," defined as a complete lap without any collisions with walls, obstacles or deviations from the designated race course.
10.1. One bonus point will be awarded for successfully achieving a perfect lap.
10.2. To be eligible for a perfect lap bonus point, the lap time must fall within a predetermined time limit.
10.3. Each pilot is permitted to submit only one claim for a perfect lap bonus point per race week.
Bonus points will be awarded to pilots who secure the fastest lap times during a race week.
11.1. Two bonus points will be awarded for recording the fastest lap time.
11.2. The awarding of fastest lap bonuses will commence on Friday and continue throughout the remaining days of the race week.
11.3. Each day, the fastest submitted by 11:59 PM EST will be acknowledged with bonus points.
11.4. Pilots are eligible to receive a maximum of one fastest lap bonus point per Grand Prix. If the same pilot claims the top spot throughout the remaining race week, the bonus point will be awarded to the next qualifying pilot.
PROHIBITIONS
Modifications to the game client are prohibited. If modifications are detected in an HSX Series lap-time submission, it will be invalidated.
12.1. Visual modification is included in this rule.
Lighting system modifications
Post-processing filter modifications, namely mods like ReShade
Material texture modifications
